Our founders
Two
foundations supporting climate change initiatives, ClimateWorks
in the United States
and the European
Climate Foundation (ECF),
have provided the initial funding for the creation of BPIE. The
European Council for
an Energy Efficient Economy
(eceee) provided support during its developing stage.
BPIE is also the
European centre of a global best practice network (GBPN)
created by ClimateWorks focusing on buildings.
The GBPN is in the process of establishing regional centers of excellence for building efficiency in China, India, and the United States. These centers will support local policymakers as they craft policies that capture the energy-savings potential in the buildings and appliances sector.
