JustReno webinar #2: Integrating energy performance and social considerations into local heating and cooling planning

The JustReno project is pleased to announce the second webinar in its series, exploring how identifying worst-performing buildings can support local heating and cooling planning while protecting vulnerable households.

Renovation and heating decarbonisation cannot be planned separately. Local heating and cooling planning offers an opportunity to bring together information on building performance, heating systems, energy demand and vulnerable households, and to use it to design more effective and socially just local energy strategies. Yet in many municipalities, building, energy, social and spatial planning departments still work with separate data and processes.

This webinar will explore the overlap between the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) focus on worst-performing buildings and the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) requirements on heating and cooling planning. It will look at how data collected to identify worst-performing buildings can support planning at neighbourhood and municipal level, how to make sure vulnerable households are not left behind by heating-system change, and how municipalities can build lasting cooperation between departments, drawing on practical examples.

Join us on 17 November online to learn how municipalities can use shared data and planning processes to find synergies, prioritise interventions and protect vulnerable households.
