Buildings data and tools

BPIE contributes, and has contributed, to the development of several tools within the framework of EU-funded projects and more.

Database of grey-box model parameter values for EU building typologies

The database developed by the Horizon 2020 project AmBIENCe collects information and data on the parameters needed for both the Energy System Impact Assessment and the creation of performance models. The database provides information about the building stock segments’ reference building, as well as information on the building stock segments themselves.

eensight

Ground breaking tool measures energy savings across portfolios of buildings, which could be used to replace inaccurate ‘deemed’ estimates of energy savings, creating a foundation for energy companies to contract for energy savings instead of fossil fuels.

HotMaps Building Stock Analysis

The data collected in the building stock analysis are used as starting point to calculate the useful energy demand (UED) for space heating (SH), space cooling (SC), and domestic hot water (DHW) for each EU28 MS down to its local level.

EUCalc Transition Pathways Explorer

The EUCalc Transition Pathways Explorer allows you to run your own emission scenarios, powered by the EUCalc model, and directly visualise its effects. Based on the ambition level you choose for each sector, the EUCalc model projects the energy and material use, greenhouse gas emissions and the consequent societal, environmental and land use impacts.

ExcEED platform

The ExcEED project -which stands for European Energy Efficient building district Database: from data to information to knowledge – takes the pulse of the actual energy consumed by last generation of buildings.

The EEFIG DEEP Platform

The EEFIG DEEP platform is an open-source initiative to up-scale energy efficiency investments in Europe through the improved sharing and transparent analysis of existing projects in buildings and industry.

HRE Thermal Atlas

The model is a geographic representation of heating and cooling demands in the 14 countries, excess heat potentials, prospective district heating networks, availability of renewable energy resources such as geothermal, solar irradiation, biomass and more.

ODYSSEE-MURE Database

MURE (Mesures d'Utilisation Rationnelle de l'Energie) provides information on energy efficiency policies and measures that have been carried out in the Member States of the European Union. The information is accessible by query in the database. The distribution of measure by type can be visualized through radar graph.

ZEBRA2020 Scenario Mapper

This tool shows scenarios of the market transition to nZEB (nearly Zero Energy Buildings). It analyses how current building standards and other policy settings affect the building stock transition and corresponding energy demand targets of the building sector until 2050 and how more ambitious policies could change this transition.
