Webinar on ExcEED project Database: from data to information to knowledge

This webinar will take place on June 4, from 12:00 to 13:15.

The H2020 ExcEED project takes the pulse of the actual energy consumed by last generation of buildings.

The project answers the need for transparency and comparability of energy performance calculations. The scope of ExcEED is to create a European database for measured and qualitative data on beyond the state-of-the-art buildings and districts. Building Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) have been selected and developed to quantify and benchmark the energy efficiency and the environmental quality at building and district level. Advanced tools and KPIs will be associated to the database to analyse real energy performance and environmental quality at the level of single building/district, geo-cluster of buildings, and European new or renovated building stock.

This webinar, organised in collaboration with BuildUp, presents the project results up to date analysing the current stage in regard to the project goals. ExcEED project has developed a collaborative platform that aims to be feed with as much data as possible. During the webinar, the ExcEED team will do an online demonstration of how these data could be uploaded. This database would support users to better design energy efficient buildings and define innovative building construction policies.

Finally, before the official launch of the database to possible external users or stakeholders, a new energy efficient building was used as demonstration case to test the functionalities of the ExcEED database. The building is called Casa Hoval, was built in 2014 and is located in Zanica, Lombardia, in the north of Italy. It is a nearly-Zero Energy Building, meaning that its consumption of energy is really low, close to zero. This case study will be presented during the webinar.
